Position Overview:
This position is responsible for implementing Smith & Wesson's retail marketing strategy. The Trade Marketing Specialist assumes a crucial role in independently implementing and driving retail marketing programs. The ideal employee is self-motivated and provides expertise in B2B/B2C marketing. The person in this role requires a passion for retail marketing, a willingness to travel, and a capacity to maintain a comprehensive understanding of evolving retail marketing strategies and tactics. The successful Retail Marketing Specialist excels in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective collaboration and teamwork while exercising a high degree of autonomy.
Location: In-office/Non-remote in Maryville, TN
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Use knowledge and experience to plan strategic activations and create innovative in-store experiences to drive traffic and/or increase sales and brand awareness.
Lead and develop an integrated retail marketing plan, aligned with key sales and brand marketing initiatives.
Work cross-functionally to plan and drive retail specific activities, merchandising based on campaigns and key occasions.
Responsible to operate closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all activities are executed for retailers as planned and track budget and performance.
Conduct monthly visits to retail locations nationwide and speak with managers about programs and all seek placement opportunities.
Keep point of purchase materials up to date and ensure availability of assets to sales staff.
Work with brand management team to help drive product launch process and ensure retail deliverables are met as directed.
Individually ensure programs and projects are aligned with strategic priorities of the business.
Report on program metrics for all retail programs/promotions.
Assist in preparation and presentation of annual CM budget for all brand and product programs/promotions.
Assist with coordination of promotional material development as defined in annual marketing/business plan and as directed by manager.
Attend and support trade shows where marketing, resellers and recruitment occurs.
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, marketing communication or related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in B2B/B2C marketing, merchandising, or partner marketing -- preference within sporting or hard goods industry.
Competencies and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of retail industry trends and best practices
Retail marketing experience preferred
Analyze data to identify opportunities to increase store foot traffic

Physical Demands:
Works in an office environment.
Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

SCOPE
Smith & Wesson is looking for a detail-oriented professional who is knowledgeable in digital marketing, understands the importance of brand stories, is looking to reach new audiences, and drives tangible business and reputation results. This role will have the opportunity to drive our social media content, collaborate with teams across the organization, and help build a sustainable infrastructure for our digital marketing practices. You'll engage directly with our consumers, monitor online trends for relevant conversations, and report on the results. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be part of the Brand Marketing team, and work closely with many functions within the company including but not limited to, Sales, Product, Operations, Engineering, and other Brand marketing teams.
The role is based in our Maryville, TN office, and reports to the Director of Brand Marketing. The position is 100% in-office/non-remote.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES
Strategize and share Smith & Wesson's story through social media content and engagement tactics.
Ideate, create, and schedule content for Smith & Wesson's digital channels.
Consult with teams across the organization to build coalitions and identify opportunities to collaborate.
Manage Smith & Wesson's social media projects, brainstorms, and campaign kickoffs.
Review and respond to incoming messages from our consumers.
Provide design and video editing support.
Responsible for regularly sourcing and distributing digital marketing reports.
Lead in other social media initiatives as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications preferred
1+ years' experience in Marketing preferred
1+ years' experience with social media planning/coordination preferred
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Strong writing and editing skills, along with a track record of creating content for consumers.
Experiences with project management or process development.
A tactful, bridge-building approach to working with people at different levels of social media knowledge.
Outstanding judgment relating to personal and professional social media usage.
Preferred: experience using Photoshop or other graphic design tools.
Advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills required
Self-motivated, independent, and proactive worker with a high level of organization, professionalism, and attention to detail
