Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for a Systems Engineer Commercial Platform reporting to Lead, Enterprise Platforms3, PlatformX.

Description

As a Platform Engineer in a team of individuals aligned to the Astellas Commercial platforms, you will be a crucial player in driving our digital initiatives forward in our agile organization.

Our agile operating model consists of two components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution are about aligning multiple missions around business goals and facilitating collaboration on a larger scale. Digital Capability, on the other hand, focus on the growth and development of individuals within a specific expertise area. This dual structure enables us to scale agile practices efficiently while maintaining a focus on both product development and individual skill enhancement.

An Enterprise Business Platforms Engineer / Owner focuses on the development, deployment, integration and support of software platforms that support our business processes and operations, directly or by working with SaaS/cloud platform providers This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and experience in developing and enhancing solutions for the commercial domain (customer engagement, events & virtual meetings, marketing automation). Experience in working with configurable or low-code platforms as well as software engineering will be key.

The goal is to ensure these platforms are optimized to support business goals, enhance efficiency, and drive growth. You will be at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in your field.

Essential Job Duties

• Platform capability enablement and maturation: Strategize platform capabilities required for business needs, develop roadmaps, identify use cases and opportunities to implement that provides the most value.

• Platform Development and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure business platforms to meet the specific needs of our organization. This could involve programming, configuration, or integrating various software solutions, directly or overseeing working with SaaS/Cloud vendors with accountability.

• System Integration: Collaborate with Platform SMEs to design, implement, test and manage integrations required to enable platform capabilities Ensure seamless integration between different business platforms and systems (e.g., integrating Veeva CRM, Cvent, Marketo, ON24, SpotMe, SAP Concur and Datawarehouse systems using APIs and integration tools like MuleSoft to enhance data flow and business processes.

• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly monitor the performance of business platforms, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and user experience.

• User Support and Training: Provide technical support to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure users can effectively utilize the platforms.

• Initiative Execution: Actively participate in and contribute to various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve the objectives and expected Value. Contribute to the ongoing realization of Value from these enterprise platforms through continuous integration and deployment.

• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members within the subdivision and across other digital and business units.

• Continuous Learning: Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in a specific area of expertise.

• Innovation: Contribute innovative ideas and approaches to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.

• Reporting: Regularly report on the progress of the various Value Teams and outcomes to your Capability Lead and team members.

• Problem-Solving: Employ analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome project challenges and deliver effective solutions.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in the work delivered.

• Provide platform and product capability expertise to partner teams.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science.

• Experience of Agile methodologies in a technology delivery environment.

• Knowledge of key business processes, in the life science commercial / customer engagement domain, and how enterprise platforms and systems support these processes.

• Ability to transform business requirements into product /platform capabilities for implementation

• Significant experience in configuration and administration of Veeva CRM and Salesforce, in particular Veeva Events Management module is a must. Veeva Certified Administrator is highly preferred. Salesforce Certified Administrator/Developer is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience about Cvent administration is a must. Cvent Certified Administrator is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in configuration, and delivering capabilities with ON24, SPOTME & Impetus is preferred.

• Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies, e.g., Java, C++, Python, R, SQL.

• Understanding of solution architecture methods and frameworks

• Understanding of platform and system integration protocols and best practice.

• Experience of DevOps and continuous delivery

• Experience of low-code platforms such as Salesforce.com
