Here, you will work with a team of designers in creating digital products and experiences for brands including Post-it, Filtrete, Scotch, and Command.UX Research Leadership:Lead and conduct comprehensive UX research activities including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitive analysis.Translate research findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations to inform product development and design decisions.Architect a steady stream of diverse user insights that can inspire both UX solutions and product roadmaps.Service Design Excellence:Develop service blueprints, customer journey maps, and service prototypes to visualize and optimize end-to-end user experiences across multiple touchpoints.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for service innovation and enhancement, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.Business Strategy Alignment:Partner closely with executive leadership, product managers, and other key stakeholders to define and execute UX strategies that drive business growth and competitive advantage.Identify emerging market trends, customer behaviors, and industry insights to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.User Centered Design Advocacy:Champion the importance of user-centered design principles throughout the organization, advocating for the needs of users at every stage of the product development lifecycle.Collaborate with design, engineering, and product teams to establish best practices and standards for delivering exceptional user experiences across digital platforms and channels.Cross-Functional Leadership:Champion digital capabilities and UX value creation with various stakeholders inside and outside of 3M, including executive leadership.Leverage expertise of user centered design to inspire and influence key stakeholders, aimed at being a world class Consumer Products Goods company.Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.Innovation and New Product Development:Lead the ideation, conceptualization, and prototyping of innovative UX solutions and new product concepts that address emerging user needs and market opportunities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and develop go-to-market strategies that maximize impact and market adoption.Establish thought leadership with 3M scientists to experiment in emerging digital technologies that can lead to transformative experiences in the future.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.Eight (8) years of experience in UX Design, Design Research, and/or Service Design in a private, public, government or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:5 years leading UX research activities including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitive analysis.2 years leading service design a tivities including service blueprints, customer journey maps, and service prototypes.2 years of experience designing or conducting research for web and native apps (iOS or Android).5 years work experience in design for consumer products and high value brands.Experience with digital collaboration tools, such as Miro or Mural.Experience with Figma.Demonstrated ability in leading and growing design teams is preferred, with a passion for the design details that can make for exceptional user experience.Strong communication, influence and strategic thinking skillsets to articulate design proposals and advocate for better user experience.Experience working collaboratively with business, research and development functions in a variety of settings.Experience working on products with innovative business models, including understanding of concepts such as the business model canvas, data monetization and technology adoption curve.Please attach a file or include a link to a non-confidential portfolio of design work along with your application.Work location;Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: Is not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts...Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
