Here, you will make an impact by:Provide strong technical leadership to effectively influence global teams to develop and execute the sensing, data acquisition, and visualization technical strategy and necessary infrastructure across various manufacturing environments and processes.Design and implement technical solutions in manufacturing environments to ensure robust and comprehensive contextualization of data. Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to provide necessary information for advanced applications.Develop a clear strategy and deploy scalable templates for shop floor visualization, enabling effective communication with end users and facilitating real-time decision-making based on the available information.Employ process control solutions and provide support to data engineers, ML engineers, and site resources to acquire, cleanse, and visualize results for critical manufacturing wastes and projects.Proactively identify, evaluate, and implement solutions to enhance data availability, including exploring potential hardware and software solutions for new data sources, data organization, and ensuring secure data movement.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentThree (3) years experience in data acquisition and storage solutions in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Masters degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Analytics from an accredited institutionFive (5) years experience with shop floor visualization and reporting tools like Power BI and GrafanaFive (5) years experience providing technical leadershipFifteen (15) years of manufacturing, data acquisition and storage solutions experience in a private, public, government or military environmentSkills include:Project ManagementNetwork Security Architectures (e.g. CPwE)Basic network understanding (e.g. firewall, bandwidth)Knowledge of machine to historian interfaces (e.g. Suitelink, OPC, Kepware)Work location:Hybrid local to Maplewood, MNTravel: May include up to 20% DomesticRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provi ions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.To comply with these laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within 3M that may present access to export controlled technical data, 3M must assess employees' U.S. person status, as well as citizenship(s).The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
