ROLE SUMMARY

Pain is the largest business within the US PCH Health business unit at $700MM+. Advil is the critical brand within the Pain Franchise and it is integral to the franchise achieving its long term growth and profit plans. Advil is the #1 adult analgesic brand in the US and has achieved a solid growth trajectory over the last few years. Thermacare is also part of the Pain Franchise. We are seeking an experienced marketer to help the Pain franchise continue its growth trend by focusing on growing all parts of the business.

In this role, the colleague will be responsible for leading the development and execution of Pain's strategic plan; inclusive of the annual brand plan, a comprehensive retail strategy (in-store expansion, replenishment, pricing, assortment optimization, etc), as well as managing the Franchise's P&L and budget.

The Senior Director will manage a complex network of cross-functional partners, leading a team of professionals to develop and execute the overall plan. This will be a high visibility role given the nature and its importance to the overall PCH US business. The colleague will own the Pain business and P&L, but will also be a critical member of the Health Franchise Team and will need to play a leadership role on that team. This role has the ability to make significant impact to the PCH US business in 2018 and beyond.

This colleague will serve in a general management leadership capacity with full accountability for driving profitable growth of the Pain business.

The colleague will not only own the Pain Franchise business but also be a critical member of the US Health leadership team and a member the US Extended Leadership Team (XLT).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead development of the Annual Brand Plan - with focus on strategy and growth plan

  • Manages and owns the brand P&L and associated resources to maximize short term financial goals and the long-term health of the brand. Includes activities like annual budget planning, quarterly phasing, supply & demand discussions.

  • Lead the development of the retail strategy- Manage retail relationships to meet/exceed retail team budgets - as well as solve for potential sales gaps- In-Store expansion (front end, fixed merchandising solutions, seasonal)- Retail optimization (e.g. assortment, store-location)

  • Develop and execute a profit accretive Advil brand pricing strategy that maintains our promotion linkage but also addresses our retailer profitability issues.

  • Lead development & execution of communication plan, including brief, boards and final execution

  • Lead the development of the digital strategy and overseeing the execution

  • Lead and/or support brand innovation

  • Lead a team of leaders on the brand

  • Serve as commercial leader for the cross functional team including all of the groups mentioned in organizational relationships

  • Lead, develop and assist team and direct reports. Support their ongoing development in their role

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree required, MBA Preferred

  • 10+ years experience in CPG, Marketing roles

  • Demonstrated success as a successful brand marketer, cross functional leader and people developer

  • Demonstrated knowledge base of consumer, customer/retailer, product and competitor landscapes

  • P&L and Operating Budget experience within a matrix organization

  • Product and marketing campaign launch experience required

  • Direct report management experience preferred, including leaders or leaders

  • Cross functional leadership experience required
