Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager, Accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and team collaboration. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving organizational success through insightful analysis and reporting.
Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s Deputy Director, Accounting & Auditing and is based out of TR’s National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.
Duties:
Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making and business planning efforts.
Oversee the accurate coding and allocation of expenses and revenue, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive interim and final reports to meet the needs of various stakeholders, including US government agencies and compliant donors.
Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to the management team and department heads to support informed decision-making.
Lead the coordination and completion of annual financial audits, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely completion.
Work closely with external accountants to facilitate the preparation of the annual 990 tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with the CFO and executive team on key capital allocation decisions, innovative projects, and strategic initiatives.
Foster collaboration with other department managers to align financial goals and objectives with overall organizational priorities.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function.
Lead and participate in special projects as needed, leveraging financial expertise to drive positive outcomes and organizational growth.
Education and Background:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related studies; MBA with concentrations in Finance or Accounting preferred
5 – 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or investment banking experience
Strong proficiency in financial reporting, modeling and analysis
Ability to work with complex and robust Excel spreadsheets, regressions, economics, etc.
Ability to provide firm recommendations while evaluating different complex financial scenarios
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and USG funding requirements
Special Requirements:
This is a full-time in-office position based out of Los Angeles and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)
Experience with any ERP accounting system (examples: Sage Intacct, SAP, NetSuite)
Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to deal with a variety of personalities in a professional manner
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Experience with Microsoft Business Dynamics, Mission CRM, and/or SAP Concur preferred, but not required
Adapts and willingly adjusts to constantly changing circumstances and parameters
