About the Position

Position outline:

Functional management responsibility of oversight of Collections, Credit Operations for Global consumer businesses.

Responsibilities:

•Provide oversight, policy exception reviews of relevant Corporate Policy contained in GCCFRP for Collections and Credit Operations

•Partner with Independent Risk oversight team along with business risk teams improve the efficiency of credit processes by providing direction and suggestions while insuring effectiveness and control elements are not sacrificed.

•Participate in Global functional working groups in Collections, Credit Operations.

•Design and implement effective methods of oversight for the functional areas of collections, credit initiation and existing customer management in order to provide continuous improvement.

•Design and implement enhanced governance, policy oversight activities that result in achieving/exceeding Heightened expectations for the functional areas of collections, credit initiation and existing customer management in coordination with product specialists.

•Institute and lead focused reviews within the Collections and Credit Operations areas to validate compliance to the policies and identify process gaps if any.

•Lead training development and deliver for the functional disciplines for Risk, Credit Operations and Business professionals on a global basis.

•Serve as independent risk point of contact for regulators, internal senior stakeholders (control forums, risk committees) in areas of policy execution.

•Provide information and counsel to the Head of Global Oversight for Collections and Credit Operations by organizing ongoing monthly reviews and quarterly CRO reviews.

•Improve the depth and breadth of senior collections management bench strength within the oversight team

•Achieve the understanding and adoption of best practices relative to strategies and tactics across the credit operations continuum.

•Directly manage a team of subject matter experts and indirectly manage via matrix relationships regional and business teams in order to provide continuous improvements in the functional disciplines.

•Support talent development within independent risk and in-business through formal programs such as ACCEL, Risk Analysts and through informal activity by connecting with key high potential individuals.

Key Responsibilities/Scope/Span-of-Control:

•Reports to the Head of Global Oversight for Collections and Credit Operations within Global Consumer Independent Risk

•Works closely with the Global product heads, regional risk management team as well as subject matter experts within the oversight team.

•Interaction with/influence internal clients, senior stakeholders, cross-functional partners, as well as internal and external oversight constituencies

•Interface with both internal Audit / FCR and Regulators

•Build and lead a high performing team, use expertise and experience to develop a pipeline of talented leaders

Key Collaboration Points:

•Legal, Compliance, AML, Fair Lending teams within Global teams

•Independent Global and Regional Risk

•Oversight constituencies including various Regulatory organizations such as OCC, CFPB and FRB as well as Internal Audit and FCR.

Qualifications

Knowledge /Experience

Business and Technical Requirements:

•10+ years of Risk Management and Operations experience

•Undergraduate degree required; Master’s degree preferred

•Ability to demonstrate leadership

•Senior executive presence

•Ability to communicate complex issues in concise executive summaries

•Strong knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations and the current environment which govern our policies and practices
