Position Description

Responsibility includes performing a variety of routine administrative support functions, for the Bankruptcy Center in relation to accounting. This work is performed under close supervision and detailed instructions are given for new or more complex assignments. Work usually involves a series of tasks and requires a high level attention to detail and organizational skills to accomplish by the established deadlines. This position will provide appropriate customer service and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements. Team work is required to insure operational and business needs are met as a group. Cross training is an established objective within the group and offers the opportunity to learn multiple aspects of the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Researching and Processing Loss Funds from Open Items

  • Posting funds to Repossession Expenses

  • Indexing and Posting Bankruptcy Trustee Invoice payments

  • Reviewing and Processing check requests

  • Processing account balance adjustments

  • General Administrative and Accounting work including special projects as needed

  • Delivers continuously improving year on year expense results by improving processes and increasing productivity

  • Supports rigorous quality, control and compliance programs to include an ongoing control/compliance self-assessment process

  • Performs data entry, system coding, reconciliations, etc. to ensure alignment within Ally systems

  • Responds promptly and professionally to requests from co-workers, customers, and Managers on an as needed basis


  • Knowledge of general/standard office and administrative procedures and methods

  • Data entry, word processing and 10 key skills with speed and accuracy

  • Familiarity with directly applicable departmental policy or procedure is required

  • Oral and written communication skills sufficient to provide routine information, greet visitors, answer inquiries, and refer calls

  • Knowledge of Ally systems (CARS, Shaw Recovery, Open Items, etc).

  • Excel, Word, and other computer skills sufficient to prepare policy manuals and enter data on spreadsheets

  • In limited subject areas judgment is required to determine the applicability of guidelines or policies to specific situations. Some ingenuity and initiative required to collect information, coordinate activities with others, and resolve routine and/or factual problems
