UL, LLC Laboratory Manager - Cybersecurity in Leiden, Netherlands

The Cybersecurity Laboratory Manager is responsible for managing, running, and developing the activity of evaluation of highly secured devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting ULS Security Evaluation services and be a local representative to develop fruitful technical networking with world players and entities globally. The Cybersecurity Operations Manager is a delivery driver who efficiently leads a team of individuals with diverse expertise and shows customers a strong value.

  • Takes a leadership role of the running of operations in a multi-cultural laboratory, focused on the security evaluation activity run in the laboratory.

  • Lead the strategy for growth in the laboratory to support scaling of delivery.

  • Engage with relevant stakeholders and teams and take accountability for the compliance of the laboratory to Scheme and accreditation body Audits.

  • Manage Scheme Relationships and working with Quality Management and Delivery teams for Audits

  • Drives projects by keeping a high standard of quality and strong concern for on-time delivery.

  • Manages projects and the corresponding resources in terms of experts and equipment.

  • Advises sales force on commercial quotations, in accordance with established practices.

  • Engaging with Sales Teams to stimulate sufficient workloads for the laboratory, and ensure teams are optimally utilised.

  • Represents UL and promotes UL Solutions services in conferences, exhibitions, or other key events, or facilitate it as necessary.

  • Implements a strong technical interaction with different security laboratories.

  • Helps the team to develop new techniques, processes, and expertise in order to improve the capability and the efficiency of UL’s Security offering, while maintaining state-of-the-art status.

  • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • University degree in a related discipline with proven experience as a Laboratory Manager (cybersecurity evaluation)

  • Ideally working in a Test Laboratory environment

  • Strong understanding of Common Criteria

  • Strong understanding of EMVCoSecure Element

  • Demonstrated ability to manage department objectives, staffing, and budgets.

  • Detailed knowledge of product testing methodologies, industry issues, needs, and problems.

  • Familiarity with a variety of security concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to manage Scheme relationships in order to align services to accreditation requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate customer meetings, negotiate and influence outcomes.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.

  • Requires a great deal of flexibility and will be required to be available to deal with matters as they arise and may be required to travel when needed.
