WestRock Company Finishing Manager in Leicester, United Kingdom
The opportunity: To manage the Finishing production process and its ancillary operations, meeting customer delivery and quality expectations whilst maximising and continuously improving manufacturing efficiencies and minimising costs.
How you will impact WestRock:
Ensuring all personnel work within a safe structure (all safety checks to be documented)
Managing projects / organising workloads
Effectively managing and developing team members with specific coaching to departmental manager / supervisors
Ability to motivate ensuring performance reviews are carried out whilst identifying training requirements / gaps - define optimum organisational structure within the Finishing departments
Working closely with Print, C/C & Engineering Manager as well as the Quality Manager to raise overall standards - ensuring consistency of approach within the business
Work closely with technical team to understand and implement best practices both within the group & industry
Implementing improvements that last - following the DMAIC principle
Implementing and driving continuous improvement activities
Ensuring customer complaints are bottomed out through a robust structure
Driving a culture of not only planned but preventative maintenance
To undertake and other duties as required by management
What you need to succeed:
Analytical skills, including computer literacy
Understanding of Lean practices - SMED/ Kanban systems/ GMP/ JIT /Kaizen events
Minimum 5 years management experience in a unionised manufacturing environment
People management skills
Exposure to change management processes
Communication/briefing skills
Team building
Negotiation/consultation skills
Awareness of current SHE and employment legislation/standards
Recruitment skills
Budget management/cost control awareness.
Project management and problem solving skills
Written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively
