Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Staff Services Coordinator supervises all credentialing and administrative functions of the Medical Staff Services Department and performs a variety of tasks requiring initiative, independent judgement, discretion, diplomacy, and substantial knowledge of Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Policies & Procedures.The Medical Staff Services Coordinator coordinates Medical Staff support services in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations and Hospital Policies & Procedures within parameters determined by the Director of Medical Staff Services, Administration and the Chief of Staff.The Medical Staff Services Coordinator participates with the Director of the department in development of long-term plans, goals, and objectives of the Medical Staff and Medical Staff Services to include accountability to the Board of Trustees for Medical Staff activities, and JCAHO compliance in all areas of Medical Staff Services. What qualifications you will need: Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent required Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services required preferred, but not required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in a Medical Staff Services setting and a thorough understanding of goals, objectives, and purpose of Medical Staff Services required and a minimum 1 year management experience in a human relations position within a hospital setting required. Excellent computer experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Knowledge of State and Federal laws and JCAHO requirements regarding credentialing and medical staff service functions.
