Technical Manager GT Component Repairs

We are looking for a Technical Manager GT Component Repairs to join our Sulzer Turbo Services team in La Porte, TX.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Aero GT Division in Houston, prioritizing safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the division, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded by effectively managing costs, maximizing revenue streams, and implementing strategies to enhance profitability.

  • Cultivate a positive work environment by actively engaging with technical representative employees, setting clear expectations, and promoting teamwork.

  • Drive technical advancement within the division by staying abreast of industry trends and continuously improving coating solutions.

  • Optimize work processes to enhance efficiency and profitability, ensuring alignment with monthly budgets.

  • Collaborate with customers, Sales Department, and vendors to meet project requirements and maintain strong relationships.

  • Coordinate scheduling and project timelines, regularly updating task status and completion dates for effective project management.

  • Provide guidance for accounting processes, including invoicing and Purchase Order approvals.

  • Conduct performance evaluations for Direct Reports and manage salary adjustments in line with company policies.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5 – 10 years experience in a supervisory role within the aerospace or manufacturing industry.

  • Experience in financial management, including responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of a division or department, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding budgetary targets and driving profitability.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees, customers, and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical advancement and innovation within a division or department.

  • Experience in project management, including coordinating schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.

  • Familiarity with accounting processes, including invoicing, Purchase Order approvals, and financial reporting.
