WTW P&C Senior Consultant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

As a P&C Senior Consultant in ICT, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of a variety of projects on IFRS 17, pricing, predictive analytics, reserve valuation, RBC, merger & acquisitions etc for our P&C clients mainly across South East Asia (SEA).

You will be responsible for reviewing the analysis and explaining the results, and will work closely with other analysts/consultants and the project lead to ensure timely delivery of projects. Many of the projects will involve the use of WTW”s market leading actuarial software to produce customised solutions for our clients. In addition to project delivery, you will also be responsible for client communication, project management, and business development activities.

You will also be supporting the development of the P&C Product, Pricing, Claim and Underwriting (PPCU) proposition in SEA and support on business development activities and client communication.

The Role

  • Serve as the project manager, ensuring the progress against established project scope, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact to clients on delivery of services, while managing client expectations to ensure that we deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions for the clients

  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects

  • Participate in business development activities and work with the team to develop go-to-market propositions. You may be supporting in business development activities across all our areas of expertise.

  • Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Deliver high-quality work in compliance with Excellence standards and proactively look to improve the delivery approach

  • Manage time effectively between multiple concurrent assignments

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and promote innovative culture within the business to drive the development of new ideas, services offerings and propositions.

The Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or any other related quantitative fields

  • 7 - 13 years of general insurance experience, preferably with some consulting or regional experience. Less experienced candidates may be considered for more junior positions

  • Good progress with actuarial exams from recognised International Actuarial Bodies

  • Strong technical understanding and working experience in pricing, IFRS 17, reserving, data science and/or M&A

  • Familiar with insurance regulations and market in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and/or Indonesia, or having a good understanding of general insurance business, market and trends in the region

  • Familiarity with WTW’s software (e.g. Emblem, Radar, ResQ and/or ResQ Financial Reporter) is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Proven experience in successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget

  • Self-driven achiever, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Good time management skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently
