A.T. Still University KCOM - Undergraduate Physiology Summer 2024 Research Assistant (0.5 FTE) in Kirksville, Missouri

A.T. Still University's Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) is seeking three non-exempt Undergraduate Physiology Research Assistants for the summer of 2024 (June-August) on the Kirksville, Missouri, campus. The successful applicants will work half-time in an undergraduate student research position and contribute to ongoing studies in the field of Alzheimer's disease research. Primary work will include the processing of animal tissue for western blotting and/or immunohistochemical analysis. Other duties entail microscopy, data analysis, and data dissemination in the form of posters and/or oral presentations at local/national conferences. This position is a 3-month NIH-funded position. Major Job Duties

  • Experimentation (tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, western blot, etc.)

  • Microscopy

  • Data analysis

  • Data dissemination

Skills/Requirements

  • High School plus one year college

  • Must have knowledge of general lab work

  • Knowledge in immunohistochemistry and/or western blotting is a plus

  • Must have good fine motor skills

  • Must be diligent
