Delaware North Seasonal Operations Manager, Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon National Pk, California

The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Seasonal Operations Manager to join our team at our Cedar Grove Lodge at Kings Canyon, California. The Operations Manager works closely with the General Manager to ensure effective overall operations of the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Retail Store, and Food & Beverage outlets. The Operations Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations including; scheduling, ordering supplies, ensuring Guest Service standards are met, and maximizing profitability.

The Cedar Grove Lodge is a rustic 21-room hotel in the heart of Kings Canyon National Park on the banks of the Kings River. This is a remote location with the nearest city being 1 hour and a half outside the Park. On-site housing with WiFi is offered.

The Operations Manager's seasonal term is June 15 to October 31st.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $66560 - $68000 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Directs team members and coordinates the activities of the lodge.

  • Review operating and sales reports to determine necessary changes to the operations to realize revenue maximization and financial success.

  • Coordinates with support managers for compliance with policies, merchandise mix, and inventory.

  • Directly supervises all associates including scheduling, training, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates.

  • Directs daily activities of the Lodging operation, analyzes and organizes operations and procedures, and ensures operations comply with company policies and programs.

  • Responsible for all front desk guest relations, including addressing guest and associate complaints, resolving issues, and responding to guest inquiries.

  • Responsible for reconciling all monthly OTA and direct bill accounts.

  • Responsible for keeping all Front office software and hardware systems up and running.

  • Acquire all knowledge and become an expert on the property management system.

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Ability to drive a company vehicle as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of hotel front desk experience required.

  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

  • Aditional experience with F&B and/or retail is preferred.

  • Opera Cloud experience is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate through oral and written skills with staff, creating a positive work environment.

  • Demonstrate initiative, leadership, and team-building skills.

  • Ability to manage frequent change.

  • Ability to manage their own time as well as the time of others.

  • Valid driver's license is required.
