Description

The Corporate Innovation System Specialist will lead the operation of an internal idea collection tool, enabling employees to submit their innovative concepts seamlessly. This role will steward the entire ideation process, from developing an evaluation framework to nurturing concept evolution and ensuring smooth handoffs to sponsoring organizations.

This role will be responsible for optimizing the Innovation team's corporate systems, enhancing overall productivity, streamlining workflows, and supporting cross-functional teams. The Corporate Innovation System Specialist will work closely with business units, IT teams, department heads, and end-users to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot these systems to meet the organization's evolving needs.

  • Lead the administration, configuration, and maintenance of a centralized idea collection tool for employee innovation concepts.

  • Configure and maintain enterprise technology platforms used for the innovation idea.

  • Lead development and implementation of procedures for idea evaluation, including maintenance of innovation technology systems.

  • Develop and deliver training programs on technology platforms used for innovation idea collection for end-users and IT staff.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize processes, workflows, and data management through the effective use of technology. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement system improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce redundancy.

  • Facilitate regular reviews of new ideas, helping concepts advance through their development stages.

  • Provide guidance to other divisions within the company as they establish and manage their own innovation programs.

  • Coordinate impactful innovation-focused event to foster collaboration and generate fresh ideas.

  • Collaborate with IT teams and third-party vendors to integrate technology seamlessly with other enterprise applications. Troubleshoot integration issues and identify opportunities for process automation.

  • Implement system upgrades and new releases specific to the innovation collection system by conducting thorough testing to ensure the stability and functionality of the system before implementation.

  • Foster strong relationships with various stakeholders, including department heads, end-users, and IT teams, to ensure a collaborative approach to corporate innovation programs.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to innovation.

  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.

  • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering or a related field and 4 years relevant experience required. (Master's degree preferred)

  • Previous experience in corporate innovation programs is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with human-centered design or design thinking methodologies is highly valued.

  • Familiarity with Viima or similar innovation management tools is beneficial.

  • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise hardware, software, networking, and security systems is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally.
