Position Summary

We are seeking a Sr Mgr, Data Engineering to work closely with the Data Engineering, product managers and tenant teams. This role requires a strong leader with Devops, data engineering and agile experience to help guide the Data Engineering team members working on the GCP Enterprise Data Platform.

Reporting into the Executive Director, Data Engineering in the Enterprise Data Governance, Platform and Products Department, this role requires in-depth Cloud data delivery expertise in an agile environment. The candidate needs to have a very strong technical background with Data Warehouse / Big Data and needs to be proficient on using Google Storage and Compute Services as well as have a very strong handle of Microsoft Suite - Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will also need to have in depth technical knowledge to help guide the Agile teams towards a solution as well as significant experience working and communicating clearly to senior leadership groups.

Responsibilities of the Sr Mgr, Data Engineering Delivery lead

  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Engineering Teams and Business Stakeholders

  • Reporting: Support regular, quantifiable and measurable perspective on product health.

  • Solve the complex business problems using all the modern tools and technologies • Securely store, process, transform and enrich terabyte to petabyte scale of highly confidential healthcare data that helps in taking data driven business decisions • Provide best-in-class environment where everyone brings their heart to work to build technical solutions to support customers.

    ​​ Leading an Agile Data Engineering team:

  • Design, Develop and maintain optimal data pipeline to assemble large & complex data sets that meets analytics and business requirements for various CVS Lines of Business • Identify, design, and implement engineering process improvements through automating manual processes, optimizing data pipelines, re-designing services for greater scalability. • Build the frameworks required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using GCP technologies. • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights and integrate insights with various consumer touchpoints. • Work with analytic teams to support their data and technology needs. • Operationalize and automate the data pipelines on GCP / Azure cloud environments

    • Mentor and provide guidance to Early in Career associates

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Information Technology or Analytics Experience.

  • 5+ years of Experience with big data / data warehouse like Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop , DB2 etc

  • 2+ years managing a large program / initiative related to Large Data and Application Migration or building a new enterprise data warehouse / data lake environment within a large Fortune 50 Company.

  • 2+ years of Cloud Data Engineering or Analytics Experience, preferably on Google Cloud Platform

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of agile frameworks and agile delivery practices

  • Experience with Large Healthcare data and systems having Petabytes of data

  • Experience implementing complex, enterprise-wide data transformation and processing solutions

  • Worked in a large multi-tenancy environment

  • Technical understanding and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Structured approach and comfortable working at speed to tight deadlines

  • Collaborative and happy working cross-functionally

  • Driven personality with strong ownership, accountability traits and excellent problem solver

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $236,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
