We are currently seeking a Surfacing Manager to join our team. As the Surfacing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the surfacing operations in our optical lab to ensure the production of high-quality lenses that meet customer specifications. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.
The Role:
As the Surfacing Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
Manage the daily operations of the surfacing department.
Manage the training, development, and safety of a team of lab personnel
Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of surfacing equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Train and mentor surfacing technicians to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
Monitor and analyze surfacing performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.
Collaborate with the lab director and other department managers to optimize workflow and achieve overall operational goals.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in surfacing technology, recommending and implementing upgrades as necessary.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, enforcing compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Evaluate and improve upon procedures to ensure a high quality product with little variance in output.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
Prior experience in lens surfacing operations within an optical manufacturing facility.
Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to mentor and develop a team.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of surfacing equipment and processes.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Flexibility and adaptability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines.
