Southern Plantation Property Manager-in-Training in Illinois

Overview

Provide transitional management and marketing oversight at any of our Senior Suites properties. This includes serving the residents with sensitivity and being responsive to their needs. Motivate and provide leadership to staff and residents. This position reports to Senior Lifestyle Corporation’s Compliance and Training Director.

Essential Functions

  • Promote and ensure all corporate philosophies and objectives are maintained.

  • Maintain systems, policies, reports and manuals that are appropriate to the Senior Suites operations.

  • In the absence of the Property Manager, prepare monthly reports on current operational state of the community, including: move-outs, tenant arrivals, financial recap.

  • Maintain easy access and client communications between management, staff and the resident population. Meet with individual residents to learn of their pleasures, problems and concerns that relate to the resident services.

  • Responsible for leasing of apartments according to established guidelines.

  • Manage the day to day financial affairs of the community by collecting, recording and depositing rent payments, credit check fees, etc. in the absence of a Property Manager.

  • Creates an environment for pride and quality among all staff, encouraging them to their highest potential.

  • Ensures that buildings, grounds, and property are maintained at the highest standard of excellence through preventative maintenance systems and programs.

  • Maintains resident retention by working with residents and their families, dealing with any issues that arise.

  • Keeps up-to-date with information about competitors.

  • Become an intricate part of the community in social and civic affairs by representing the property in local, state and professional organizations.

  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.

  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.

  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.

  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of Senior Lifestyle Corporation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Training or experience in gerontology and/or hospitality is valuable.
