Job Purpose

Within Microsoft Digital, The Infrastructure & Engineering Services (IES) team is chartered to deliver innovative experiences across our hosted ecosystem. Experiences such as abstracted hybrid network provisioning, intelligent manageability, telemetry, advanced security, and device management. Being part of IES, the ideal candidate will own delivering cutting-edge infrastructure services for this large portfolio which includes understanding and delivering against customer-led scenarios ranging from providing modern devices connectivity for global sites, adopting cloud capabilities, Infrastructure compliance, stability, and reliability initiatives and more.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Program Manager to drive the modernization of our infrastructure and help us evolve our product mindset, drive a growth-mindset culture, and deliver industry-leading results.

Responsibilities

  • Being vision led by providing industry leading infrastructure solutions to the enterprise.

  • Plan and execute end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure Programs across the portfolio.

  • Build Program timelines, estimate of level of effort, manage milestones, and course correct Programs to maintain overall schedule/cost/quality by mitigating the program risks.

  • Orchestrate planning, communications, testing, and stakeholder management across multiple teams.

  • Increase reliability of the service through engineering practices, data driven approach, hardware/software refresh programs and optimization efforts.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing processes and drive ideas to completion.

  • Planning service innovations by exhibiting and employing a product engineering mindset across the team.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to drive the procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of IT infrastructure.

  • Modernizing the infrastructure capabilities with market research, adopting cutting edge technologies, and partnering with product managers.

  • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with business, application program managers, ISPs, OEM vendors, Engineering peers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure management of which at least 5+ years' operating in a complex, multi-system environment as a Technical Program manager.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure services and Programs (planning, budget, procurement, installation, configuration, deployment, contract management etc.)

  • Excellent organizational and program management skills.

  • Expertise in IT infrastructure and Networking technologies.

  • Exposure to Cloud technologies would be an added advantage.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required for preparing clear, concise, and grammatically correct materials and communicating information effectively to others.

  • Ability to use various project management methodologies, including agile.

  • Solid customer focused, relationship focused pattern of work.

  • Ability to create structure from abstract ideas, take initial concepts to full maturity.

  • Technically savvy with the ability to solve both technical and non-technical problems.

  • BS or MS in computer science, or a related discipline.
