Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Business Banking Credit division of Wells Fargo is in search of a talented Lending Officer for the Southwest Region. We are seeking an experienced Lending Officer with excellent credit skills and a proven track record of successful collaboration.

Responsible for overseeing lending activities for the South Houston Region in the Southwest. Functions include:

  • planning, organizing, and assisting management in accomplishing business goals;

  • approving loans in excess of unit/department authority levels;

  • ensuring conformity with company/regulatory policies and procedures;

  • ensuring risk rating accuracy across assigned business units;

  • assisting relationship managers and other senior officers with structuring, pricing and documentation of larger commercial loan transactions;

  • monitoring and reviewing the assigned business unit’s loan underwriting and portfolio management performance;

Other duties may include portfolio management activities associated with problem loan management.

Preferred locations: Houston, Texas. Other Wells Fargo Business Banking locations in Texas may be considered.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of lending experience
