Robert Half Consolidation Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas

Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Consolidation Accounting Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role involves coordinating and overseeing the global consolidation of financial data from various business units to produce accurate, timely consolidated financial statements. The Consolidation Accounting Manager work in a hybrid model, with three days per week at our downtown Houston offices and two days working remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute the consolidation process, including collecting, reviewing, and reconciling financial data from various sources, including subsidiaries, divisions, and business units in multiple currencies.

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Oversee the reconciliation and elimination of intercompany transactions to avoid duplication and ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas that may require additional attention and provide insights and recommendations to management based on these analyses.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies, staying current with changes in accounting standards and making necessary adjustments to the consolidation process.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all documentation and information are readily available for audit purposes.

• Utilize financial consolidation software and tools to streamline the consolidation process, improve efficiency, and maintain data integrity.

• Communicate with various stakeholders, including executives, finance teams, and subsidiaries, to address inquiries, explain financial results, and provide guidance on accounting treatment.

• Continuously assess and enhance the consolidation process, identifying opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements.

• Assist with the ownership of the company’s chart of accounts hierarchy and mapping financial statement mapping.

Requirements • Proficiency in consolidation accounting processes and principles

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance

• Demonstrated skills in cash activity management

• Solid understanding of finance principles and its applications

• Experience in handling foreign exchange transactions

• Proficiency in consolidations and month-end close processes

• Familiarity with the Planful financial planning and analysis platform

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is an advantage

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
