Dow Chemical Account Manager in Houston, Texas

TheDow Chemical Companyhas an opportunity for anAccount Managerfor the Industrial Comfort and Energy Efficiency (ICEE) business (former Polyurethanes business) located in theWest Coast(PREFFERRED) OR theTexas Area.

This role will be part of the Polyurethane (PU) Components team in North America and execute the marketing plan together with Research & Development (R&D), Marketing, Product Management, and Technical Service. This individual will be responsible for customer acquisition and retention at assigned accounts.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate should be energetic, proactive, and have a HIGH bias for action. The Account Manager engages with customers to understand their needs and drives innovation to generate customer value. The ability to establish trust, credibility and a strong relationship with buyer influences at assigned accounts is a must. This coupled with outstanding selling skills in order to secure and accelerate top line growth and profitability improvement at major key accounts. The candidate will also provide strategic insight on the market sub segments he / she will serve and will provide leadership on execution of the strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

The Account Manager actively works to identify and meet the needs of current and prospective customers by promoting and selling Dow solutions.

•Uses account planning tools, margin management tools, and electronic technology to develop and share account plans with appropriate stakeholders.

•Defines annual, value-creating customer/account goals consistent with regional and business strategy.

•Develops and builds relationships with internal and external customers and influencers at different levels. Builds on customer intimacy and becomes a reference / consultant for customers.

•Produces appropriate sales forecasts and is able to capitalize on/ compensate for market changes.

•Recognizes, anticipates, and solves customer problems resulting in business opportunities and revenue growth.

•Demonstrates sales excellence.

•Achieves sales goals and objectives as derived by business strategies and marketing plans.

•Understands and proactively analyzes customer's product and service needs, industry, and business.

•Shares business, industry, and technical intelligence with Dow counterparts (marketing, research and development, tech service, customer service, product management, etc) to promote increased revenue and value.

•Constantly identifies new opportunities in the market and prospects to speed up growth and value creating.

•Advocates for customer needs internally

•Advocates for Dow needs externally

**This role includes a car, cell phone and related work expenses.

Required Qualifications:

•Sales experience is highly desired

•Skills in (a) negotiation, (b) bias for actions, (c ) persuasive and influence, (e) interpersonal effectiveness, (f) adaptive for change and crisis management

•Availability to travel at least 75% of the time

•A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience in coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers, construction, or polyurethane markets is highly preferred.

Education:

•A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
