JOB SUMMARY
Oversee maintenance, operations and improvements of GSI facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operations of the facilities department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all systems and services.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other essential systems.
Perform basic carpentry repairs, installations and improvements.
Monitor and manage facility expenses, budgets, and contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective operations.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities, identify maintenance needs, and coordinate repairs and improvements.
Maintain grounds of the facility.
Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, finance, and human resources, to support facility-related needs.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in facility management, implementing innovative practices when appropriate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience (5+ years) in facility management, construction, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance and occupational health and safety standards.
Must be available to report to the office in the event of an emergency or critical systems outage.
