Summary:

As an Environmental Specialist, you will focus on improving the environmental conditions within our facilities by using your experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong environmental culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Help design and implement training related to environmental topics (e.g. NHO, tool box talk, etc.)

  • Develop and manage work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Prepare clear and detailed written reports about inspections/audits to ensure compliance with federal local and state regulations

  • Review and understand permit applications such as air, storm/waste water, and waste

  • Implement and maintain spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations

  • Evaluate and create environmental incident reports

  • Maintain an understanding of different production processes in order to facilitate training and provide continuous improvement such as waste/recycling management, storm water management and others as necessary

  • Participate in the ISO 14001 certification process and lead continuous improvement efforts

  • Perform internal audits of training programs and other departments to make sure they are up to date and meet proper environmental standards

  • Collect and analyze environmental data such as air emissions and waste/storm water data

  • Manage inspection reporting for a wide range of environmental disciplines such as stormwater, SPCC, and environmental equipment

  • Submit Electronic Approvals (EA’s) as needed related to maintenace of owned projects

  • Manage multiple projects at once and be able to meet required deadlines

  • Communicate and complete requests from Headquarters in Korea

  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain

  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience

    Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience evaluating and improving Environmental programs in a manufacturing environment

  • Certifications related to analysis, environmental regulations and reporting are preferred

Skills:

  • Must be comfortable working in a team setting

  • Skilled in analyzing and evaluating technical data, test results, and reports

  • Positive attitude, self-driven, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • MS Office Suite, good Excel skills needed

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
