The TriStar Food & Nutrition Supervisor will be an experienced and competent professional who is responsible for the supervision and documentation of day to day operations to ensure that patient and employee safety and HACCPS guidelines are maintained within the Food & Nutrition Department. This role will provide excellent customer service to all patients and employees.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do In This Role

  • You will oversee and document day-to-day operations to uphold patient and employee safety standards and ensure compliance with HACCP guidelines within the Food & Nutrition Department.

  • You will prioritize excellent customer service for both patients and employees.

  • You will demonstrate competency in specific areas outlined in the Competency Checklist and meet annually established performance goals/objectives.

  • You will integrate ethics into all aspects of practice, adhere to confidentiality and patient rights policies, and support the facility's mission and values.

  • You will perform other assigned duties as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • Preferred: High School Degree/Equivalent

  • Preferred: 2-3 years of food service experience

  • Preferred: 1 year of cooking experience

Licenses, Certifications, & Training:

  • Required: Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate within 90 days of hire

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Required: Knowledge of PATIENT SAFETY science principles, HACCP guidelines, and database software usage to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply.

  • Job Specific Functions I. Quality/Regulatory

  • You will utilize, monitor, and drive systems to ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP) guidelines and department sanitation.

  • You will implement processes to ensure patient safety, comply with OSHA guidelines for employee safety, maintain department security, adhere to infection control practices, and comply with HIPAA guidelines.II. Human Resources

  • You will assist in the recruitment process of potential employees.

  • You will monitor and drive the maintenance of employee competencies, participate in employee rounding, and provide coaching to promote professional and productive work behavior.

  • You will monitor and drive Time & Attendance policies and employee schedules.III. Finance

  • You will utilize, monitor, and drive cost control processes to meet goals and reduce waste in food and supply costs.

  • You will utilize systems to meet compliance goals for both vendors and products and support proper inventory levels.IV. Service

  • You will drive processes to achieve patient satisfaction goals, customer satisfaction goals, physician lounge objectives, and catering goals.

  • You will ensure compliance with standard recipes and maintain quality processes/standards in food production. Additionally, you will handle service recovery by resolving customer complaints and reporting to appropriate superiors.V. Technology

  • You will utilize HCA hardware and software as well as Computrition software. Additional Responsibilities Job Knowledge/Productivity

  • You will complete work within acceptable time limits, demonstrate the ability to set priorities, and maintain accuracy and completeness in work performed.

  • You will ensure a clean and organized work area and demonstrate thorough knowledge of work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment.Communication/Customer Service

  • You will strive for customer satisfaction, display courteous behavior, and actively listen to constructive criticism.

  • You will respond to supervisor's requests for information and assistance in a courteous manner and within the required timeframe.Dependability/Initiative

  • You will work independently or as part of a team as the situation dictates.

  • You will be willing to adjust schedules in case of workload fluctuations and exhibit willingness to master new work routines and methods.

  • You will abide by facility attendance policy.Education/Development

  • You will learn new procedures and protocols, demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures, and report any suggestions for positive change or recommendations to department policies and procedures.

  • You will complete annual mandatory In-Service requirements and Healthstream trainings and attend department meetings.
