Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Transformation Intern (Governor's Office) (College) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4366905 THE POSITION Are you an undergraduate or graduate-level student interested in making government work more efficiently and effectively? The Office of Transformation and Opportunity (OTO) is seeking an intern for summer 2024 to help us make Pennsylvania a great place to do business. The internship is expected to run late May 2024 - August 2024.

OTO was established by Governor Shapiro to coordinate across Commonwealth agencies, break down silos and help get government moving at the speed of business. The OTO intern will work directly with our team on priority initiatives, which include: coordinating government engagement with large economic development and infrastructure projects; speeding up permitting; increasing Commonwealth procurement from small diverse businesses; and clearing roadblocks for those wanting to do business in Pennsylvania. Students focused on the intersection of government, policy and business are encouraged to apply.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The OTO intern will work as an integrated member of the team, taking on both long-term projects and daily tasks as required. This intern will learn first-hand the challenges and opportunities of working as a change agent within bureaucracy and will gain exposure to relevant policy and business areas where government and business intersect.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Potential part-time or full-time internship, 25 to 37.5 hours per week. Work schedule will be flexible within 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Note: You may have the option to work in-person or hybrid, depending on the needs of both the intern and the office. Some level of reporting in-person is required. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Graduates from Spring of 2024 may also be considered for this program. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher). Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
