PRIMARY FUNCTION: Design, analyze, document, and verify RF systems, circuits, modules, and systems including power amplifiers, LNAs, oscillators, PLLs, and filters that push the limits of technology and performance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Analog RF circuit and system design (both schematic and layout). Integrate necessary analog and digital interfaces or controls. Design for manufacturing, EMI/EMC, reliability and thermal performance. Interface with PCB designers to assure superior RF performance of layouts. Develop performance validation methodology. Validate new designs to characterize total performance to failure. Function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary design team. Debug, test, and validate hardware on the bench - in the lab, manufacturing or on customer premises. Support sales and marketing by driving proposals and articulating product value to customers. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience in RF filter and amplifier design, supporting circuitry, impedance matching, evaluating performance tradeoffs, and analysis Experience using AWR RF simulation software or similar. Experience in mixed-signal PCB layout and familiarity with PCB design software. Ability to lead and drive teams. Perform system trades between modules/functions. Excellent written and verbal skills. Effectively and efficiently communicate with other departments, including manufacturing, planning, engineering and management. Must be as comfortable designing at a desk as testing in the lab. Solve, diagnose and fix problems at all level of design. (schematic, layout, module assembly, system, and production.) Ability to understand software, firmware, and state machines such that new designs can be created and existing designs and process can be evaluated, modified, or fixed. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers in verbal and written formats.
