Wyo-Ben, Inc. has an exceptional opportunity, in its Magnet Cove Facility located in Greybull, WY, for a Mechanic Helper.

The main purpose and function of a Mechanic Helper to be the lube technician in the field or shop area, to help repair and maintain equipment and facilities for the mining development and hauling division, This includes, but is not limited to, electrical, hoses and oil leaks, welding, air conditioning, shop or field oiler, and other mechanical work, depending on experience.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and haul trucks to keep them in top shape.

  • Computer diagnostics.

  • Welding.

  • Maintain mine equipment.

  • Field oiler/lube technician.

  • Inspect mine equipment before start up.

  • Operate all equipment in a safe manner to keep unnecessary maintenance problems to a minimum.

  • Communicate with all employees about unsafe conditions and/or maintenance needed, pass down instructions to the next mechanic and/or supervisor at shift change.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, environmentally sound work area for all employees.

  • Complete pre/post shift inspections, fuel equipment, perform PMs and operate equipment proficiently.

  • Responsible for reporting safety, quality, environmental, and equipment concerns to supervisor.

  • Work under close supervision.

  • Give appropriate consideration to safety, quality, and environmental concerns.

  • Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program to conform to API Specification Q1, 9th Edition requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

    You must have a current CDL with doubles and tanker endorsements.

    A Welding Certification might be required.

    You must have:

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year current experience preferred.

  • General mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment.

  • Welding and metal-working skills.

  • Basic math, computer and record keeping skills.

  • Peer-to-peer and interpersonal communication skills.

    You must be able to:

  • Frequently work alone.

  • Function under extreme weather conditions and focus for long periods of time under shift work conditions.

  • Work around machinery and mobile equipment.

  • Sit, bend, stand, work for 8-10 hours per day.

  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

  • Comply with any safety and PPE requirements

  • Work in the production environment with dust and noise.
