What you can expect in this role As a Spectrum Intern, you'll be essential to two teams - your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include: As a member of the Security Operations team, the intern will be responsible for assisting the Vulnerability and Remediation team with various aspects of their roles. This position is responsible for evolving, expanding and operating the Spectrum Vulnerability Scanning activities in the Vulnerability Management team. Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and implements approved methods of procedure. Ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures in all duties. Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Assists with vulnerability identification, scanning, reporting and remediation tracking. Be able to analyze the results of Vulnerability Scans, understand the results, and eliminate false positives. Communicate Vulnerability information with stakeholders and security management. Monitoring of responses and remediation efforts Assists with development and validation of Standard Operating Procedures Responsible for assisting teams in interpreting and applying network security policies and standards to mitigate security risks. Applies web application-level security concepts to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Creates remediation strategies with asset owners to resolve and communicate business risks associated with vulnerabilities to leadership. Reviews remediation work plans and designs; advises on improvements based on security requirements.

Required qualifications Must be enrolled in an accredited College or University graduating with a bachelor's degree between December 2024 - May 2025 Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program Ability to travel locally to Spectru Intern development events and activities throughout the program Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for Charter Sponsorship
