Software Developer

Candidate must be located near St. George, Utah

The Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. We are looking for someone who loves technology and enjoys staying up to date on new technologies and best practices.

Our team enjoys a flexible work environment so this role requires someone who is self-motivated and takes pride in their work. You will need excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a collaborative environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Work with a small team of software developers in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications.

  • Staying up to date on new technologies and best practices and bringing these insights back to the team.

  • Collaborating with other leads, project managers, and clients to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the client's satisfaction.

  • Participating in the development of software architectures and design.

  • Mentoring and providing guidance to junior team members.

  • Participating in code reviews and ensuring that the team's code is of high quality.

  • Identifying and addressing technical issues and roadblocks.

  • Participating in the development of project estimates and plans.

  • Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Equivalent field experience is also acceptable.

  • Several years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of software design principles and coding languages such as PHP and JavaScript and frameworks such as Laravel and Vue.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with tools such as version control systems (e.g. Git), bug tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, Bugsnag), and collaboration tools (e.g. Slack, Monday).

  • The ability to stay up to date on new technologies and best practices in the field of software development.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
