    Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will be responsible for assisting with various HR functions including employee onboarding, payroll processing, employee relations, training and development, benefits administration, and various administrative task. This position requires an understanding of Federal and State employment law as well as organizational policies and procedures in order to support employees and managers. The HR Generalist will serve as a primary point of contact for the HR team for internal and external contacts.

Anticipated Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.

  • Assists and supports bi-weekly payroll preparation and processing, serving as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries, such as paycheck discrepancies, tax withholdings, or direct deposit setup.

  • Provides training and support to managers and employees on payroll-related topics, such as timekeeping systems, paycheck deductions, tax forms, and payroll policies. They may also conduct workshops or informational sessions to enhance understanding and compliance.

  • Assists with the administration and education of organization benefits and various employer offerings.

  • Handles various administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, processing HR-related paperwork, and managing HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) databases.

  • Assists with generating various reports, analyzing HR metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and conducting various HR/Payroll audits as required.

  • Acts as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related matters and assists in addressing grievances, and mediate conflicts between employees or between employees and management

  • Help develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources or related position

  • Prior experience with Payroll and Benefits Administration preferred

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must have a valid unrestricted NYS Driver's license

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff via phone and those who are served “in person”

  • Must be able sit for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must have vision which is adequate to read paper and electronic documents

  • Must possess manual dexterity, to perform writing and keyboard tasks

  • OSHA Level III
