Role Summary: 

  • Conduct effective testing, reporting, repairing and updating of all test vehicles concerning electric & electronic, chassis, brake system and body in a timely manner to ensure no delays for SOP as well as no tow-ins and no unknown field complaints
  • Perform on-site technical analysis on reported VW, Audi and other VW Group test vehicles, parts and components and determine the root cause of quality and design issues, validate driver complains and provide a full technical understanding regarding costumer/driver complaints to support the development countermeasures
  • Develop and maintain fast and efficient communication flow with Audi AG
  • Define and coordinate Body and Chassis related testing with I/EG-Q, Audi AG development departments, data logger support team and Test Fleet Stations

Role Responsibilities:

Main responsibility – assign 90% of time spent

  • Effective testing, reporting, analyzing and updating of all test vehicles in regards to Electric &/ Electronic topics in a timely manner to ensure no delays for SOP as well as no tow-ins and unknown field complaints
  • Support vehicle update process for all SW components as well as necessary hardware improvements
  • Ensure analysis quality on Electric & Electronic, Body, Chassis and Brake related test results
  • Based on various vehicle monitoring data such as CAN traces, classifications, vehicle fault memory as well as market studies/criteria (JDP, consumer report, etc.) select, performs and coordinates all chassis related analysis between all NAR test fleet locations and among all test cycles, intensive tests, including dealer sites on vehicles and systems/parts
  • Coordinates all Body and Chassis related testing between all NAR Test Fleet Stations and among all test cycles and intensive tests
  • Design chassis and body test programs, monitor release cycles and recommend releases based on status of development level. Conduct all tests including customer clinics and surveys with latest update of all test vehicles with chassis SW based on request from development departments
  • Define and coordinate all chassis and body related measurements (e.g. data logger configurations) with development departments, data logger support team and Test Fleet Stations
  • Develops/validates countermeasures together with involved areas (R&D)
  • Presents findings to requesters (i.e. EG’s of Brands) in a clear, structured way

 

Additional responsibilities – assign 10% of time

  • Coordinate chassis related intensive test with development departments of Audi AG
  • Acquire necessary information related to specific test issues through analysis of development IT systems, existing network with development departments of all Group-Brands and field support and quality departments
  • Specialized training at all locations to ensure seamless testing results and tracking under various conditions



Qualifications



Qualifications:

Years of Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Engineering, Development & Testing

Education – Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering
  • Familiarity with Electric/Electronic application and development
  • Knowledge of Chassis, Brakes, Suspension and Body

Education – Desired:

  • EFK or other High Voltage certification
  • Familiarity with development testing and diagnostics equipment used by Audi AG Engineering

Skills:

  • In-depth system knowledge of Audi, VW, Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini with focus on Infotainment, E-Mobility/-Drive and Body & Chassis
  • Integration – joining people, processes or systems
  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a team
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Engineering tools used by Volkswagen Group
  • Computer savvy – skilled in use of software including IDEX, CP-Tool, ODIS, CANalyzer, INCA, DiagRa, VDS and KPM (Ticket creation and verification)
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, SQL/VBA and other engineering programs
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to maintain an effective team environment

Specialized Skills – Required:

  • Experience in electric and electronic analysis, updates and diagnosis
  • Experience in body & Chassis Systems as well as chassis application and development
  • Experience in vehicle BUS systems and analysis
  • Experience in communication and negotiation
  • Able to write reports at an Engineering type level

Specialized Skills – Desired:

  • Experience in Data Mining
  • Project coordination

Work Flexibility:

  • Business trips to NAR Test Fleet Stations, Germany, and various locations for special AUDI AG Management drives
  • Flexibility to work longer days and weekends on occasion
