Atlas Outdoor LLC Sidewalk Crew Members - Winter Snow Removal)) in Flint, Michigan

It is almost that time of year again when the snow will start to fly! We are seeking the best of the best Sidewalk Crew Snow Fighters and Heavy Equipment Operators to join our Snow Fighter Team for the 2023-2024 Winter Season. We are a Continuous Growth company with a great culture and many opportunities for advancement within our amazing organization! We ensure only the safest environment for our Team Members as well as top-notch and safe equipment!

This position will start in November and end in early April or when Winter finally decides to move out and Spring moves in. In addition to snow removal, we are continually looking to grow our Landscape, Horticulture, Irrigation, and Lawn Maintenance teams. If you are seeking long-term employment, be sure to let us know. Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Reliable Transportation and Report to work at scheduled starting time.
  • Must be available for all events and be on call 24/7, including nights, weekends, and holidays, working long shifts that could be 12 hours long.
  • Must be able to work in changing weather conditions, such as extreme cold, snow, rain, sleet, and darkness.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Sidewalk Crew - Must have the ability to safely operate small equipment and tools (Snow Blower, Backpack blower, Salt spreader, Shovel, Snowrators)
  • Heavy Equipment Operators -- Must have the ability to safely operate heavy equipment (Skid Steers, Front End Loaders, Backhoes, Tractors)
  • Must use precautions to not pile snow on trees, shrubs, fire hydrants, or in front of doors.
  • Apply de-icing melting agents to sidewalks and walkways
  • Ensure work is being conducted with safety in mind.
  • Act professionally when speaking to clients and their patrons.
  • Keep the work area clean and looking professional, which includes keeping company vehicles clean and picking up after yourself.
  • Fill out daily paperwork and Winter Logs.
  • Ask questions if needed or unsure about something.
  • Inform supervisor if equipment needs to be repaired.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and work for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, crouch, stoop, and dig.
  • Must be able to scoop heavy snow with shovels.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate equipment safely.
  • Must be able to tolerate cold weather and work outside in wind, snow, sleet, and icy conditions.
