About This Opportunity: Perform energy audits, generate project specifications, oversee contractors, provide technical support, and perform quality assurance checks for a variety of energy efficiency programs.
Key Responsibilities:
The Energy Technician perform residential energy audits and final QCI inspections for weatherization jobs.
Maintain accurate and organized job folders.
The Energy Technician generate Contractor Work Orders using NEAT / MEHA web-based software.
Demonstrate a working knowledge and compliance with the program regulations.
Perform in process inspections of jobs, ensuring the contractor is performing the work correctly.
The Energy Technician conduct various funding source monthly monitoring visits.
Maintain production as defined by funding contracts and agency requirements.
Assist with general department duties as assigned.
Accept other duties as assigned.
Perform Efficiency testing of HVAC equipment
What You Bring:
Thorough knowledge of residential energy conservation techniques.
Knowledge of or ability to learn heating system efficiency testing and CAZ testing.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be well organized with good attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to work effectively with low-income customers and contractors.
Basic computer and data entry experience, knowledge of tablet functions a plus
Attend appropriate state and agency workshops, meetings, and conferences.
Bilingual ability helpful, but not necessary
Ability to pass Massachusetts Auditor certification within 6 months of hire.
QCI certification a plus, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Must have acceptable background check.
General Knowledge of HVAC equipment
Must be able to stand; walk sit use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear and be able to lift 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust and focus.
Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
