Precipart Machinist - Cylindrical Grinding in Farmingdale, New York
Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is currently looking to hire a Machinist to join our Grinding Department. In this position you will setup, operate and maintain CNC and manual grinding machines capable of OD/ID cylindrical grinding. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist, who is dedicated to achieving superior performance and on-time delivery of products and services.
We offer four classes of machinists, spanning from Entry Level to Class A, which aligns with individual experience. Our comprehensive training programs are designed to support your professional growth, facilitating advancement through the classes as you enhance your expertise.
Our renovated facilities is equipped with state of the art equipment and is temperature controlled providing a comfortable environment that is focused on quality, safety and organization.
2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:30pm) includes a 10% shift differential.
Responsibilities
Set up and run up to two machines to grind precision parts
Load and unload parts in the machine
Start the machining cycle
Change tooling as needed
Use various precision measuring instruments to inspect dimensions of finished pieces
Maintain machines and troubleshoot setups
Hold tight tolerance of +/- .0001
Meet quality standards and production schedules
Requirements
5+ Experience setting up and operating manual and CNC grinding machines (i.e. Studer, Tschudin) is preferred, although, we welcome applicants of all experience levels to apply. Placement within our tiered classes will be determined through further assessment, ensuring the right fit and opportunity for advancement within our organization.
Should demonstrate interest and aptitude in this line of work
Relevant technical Associate degree or CNC Machining certificate is preferred for candidates with minimum experience
Experience inspecting parts and using inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers)
Experience working to very close tolerances (+/- .0001)
Experience with changing grinding wheels
Ability to read blue prints with GD&T
Good understanding of shop math
Able to work in a fast paced environment and meet production schedule
Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
Able to stand for duration of shift and lift up to 40lbs
Pay Range: $18.00 to 31.00 an hour
