State of Massachusetts Mental Health Worker III in Fall River 480, Massachusetts

The Fall River Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) Group Living Environment (GLE) Program operated by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking an experienced candidate who will serve as the Assistant House Manager (MHW III). Successful candidate will assist the Residential Supervisor in management of the GLE supervision of the staff. Provide rehabilitative services to Persons with major mental illness in ACCS (residential). Function as an advocate for assigned Persons Served and maintains a trauma informed, person centered approach. Participates in the development and implements the Community Service Plan, complies with Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies and maintains certification. _ Please Note:_* The selected candidate will work 40 hours per week on the 3rd shift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The days off are Sunday and Monday. *Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime. _ Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Assists Residential Supervisor in the management of the GLE and supervision of staff. * Provides rehabilitative services to persons with major mental illness in ACCS (residential). * Assist in the development and implementation of person served Community Service Plan (CSP) through direct observation of the person served, full knowledge of the person served history, and engagement with the person served in order to assist them in learning the necessary skills to live successfully in the community. * Provide rehabilitative interventions to assist person served in building and using skills and accessing resources to achieve treatment goals, manage symptoms and live productive and meaningful lives. These interventions take into account SAMHAS's 8 Dimensions of Wellness. * Maintain a trauma informed, person centered atmosphere while engaging persons served in their Rehabilitation and Recovery. * Knowledge of all medications used in the program, including their indications, risks and side effects , and the ability to teach person served about their medications and how to take them appropriately by utilizing MAP related material and training. * Is responsible for the overall safety and clean environment of the residence and van. Maintains and cleans house, van and yard on an ongoing basis as assigned by the ACCS team leader or designee to ensure that the condition of the house and grounds meets Quality Assurance, Joint Commission, DMH,CMR regulations, Fire, Health and Safety. * Assist person served with utilizing coping strategies, natural supports and safety when necessary. _Required Qualifications:_ * Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written format, expressing thoughts clearly and developing ideas in logical sequence. * Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations. * Ability to remain calm, rational and react quickly and effectively in emergency situations. * Ability to interact with people who are under physical and or emotional stress and exercise patience, empathy and understanding. * Ability to establish a rapport and deal tactfully with person from varied ethnic, cultural or economic backgrounds. * _* *Preferred Qualifications:* * CRP and First Aid Certification. * Bilingual or multilingual. * Experience in the human service field and specifically with individuals with mental illness or other disabilities. *Special Requirements:_ * * Map Certification-In accordance with an agreement between the Commonwealth of Mass, Dept of Mental Health and AFSCME/Council 93, employees assigned to work unit where the Medication Administration Program (MAP) is used are required to pass MAP certification within 6 mons of entering the position or 3 exam opportunities, whichever comes first. Employees are required to maintain MAP Certification as long as you are working in said program. * Possession of a current and valid Mass Class D Driver's License or equivalent * * * * _DMH Mission Statement:_ The John C.
