Job Description:

Senior Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineer

HOW AN AI/ML ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Supports capture and proposal efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business by developing technical solutions for capture strategy and proposal responses

● Provides expert support, analysis and research into large data problems and processes

● Works with solutioning teams to identify optimal applications of AI/Ml and data management solutions

● Engages customers to shape AI/ML and data understanding

● Researches and stays abreast of current and emerging trends in AI/ML and data management to ensure competitive advantage

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor of Science in a STEM-related field (Master of Science in a STEM field preferred)

● Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience (2 years can be supplemented by Master Degree)

● Required Technical Skills:

  • Ability to rapidly proof and prototype in two or more programming languages (R, Python, C++, Java, SQL)

  • Development of AI/ML and Generative AI data pipelines

  • Understanding of Knowledge Libraries and Knowledge Graphs

  • Ability to graphically depict solutions

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML projects to production

  • Expertise in Data Management best practices, design and engineering for large-scale data systems.

  • Architecting and engineering modern, federated / disparate data stores into a unified data platform including the ability to create/expose data-oriented APIs.

  • Experience in applying enterprise data cataloging, governance, and sharing solutions

● Security Clearance Level: Minimum of SECRET

● Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to translate end-user’s high-level requirements into detailed analytics to be processed in SIEM, AI/ML custom and cloud-managed solutions.

  • Ability to assist in the architecture and development of a DevSecOps, CI/CD analytics development pipeline environment using on-prem and cloud-based technologies.

  • Centralized and distributed database design and engineering that supports flexible indexing and federation of query capabilities.

  • Data governance design and meta-data and data tag management with robust data encryption and data sharing capabilities.

  • Monitoring performance and capacity and advising on any necessary infrastructure changes.

  • Defining data retention policies.

  • Knowledge and use of cloud-based technologies and techniques.

  • Experience writing proposals for the Federal Government.

  • Defense data ecosystem understanding and familiarity with Defense policies

● Preferred Skills:

  • Software development

  • knowledge of CJADC2, Defense enterprise business systems, networks, and a strong DoD customer understanding.

  • Data warehousing with streaming and batch processing.

  • Metadata and schema design and management.

  • Data correlation and enrichment best practices.

  • Data science analytics dataset management.

  • REST, API-based web services.

  • Data-centered analytics development using technologies.

  • AI/ML Ops pipeline development

  • Generative AI application development
