Carpenter/Pilebuck – Pile Driver – Entry Level/Apprentice - Alaska

This project will be located on the Dalton Highway, approximately 2 hours outside of Fairbanks.

Job Requirements

• Willing to prioritize safety in all aspects of work.

• A learner’s temperament.

• A strong work ethic.

• Capability of performing and communicating as an effective team member.

  Skills to be Acquired

• Basic jobsite skills and familiarization with elementary equipment and construction procedures.

• Specialized training to work with cranes and heavy lift operations.

• Advanced training to integrate project plans into field tasks. Quality control of concrete forms and pile driving operation.

• Basic welding operation.

• Layout, measure, cut lumber.

  Responsibilities

• Report each day on time and ready to work – Have a good work ethic and be a team player.

• Ensure reliable transportation to jobsite.

• Ensure project safety rules, proper PPE use and environmental regulations are followed at all times.

• The primary function is to fabricate substructure and superstructure of bridges and temporary work bridges.

• Reliability and trustworthiness.

• This is a Safety Sensitive Position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death.

  Preferred Experience:

• General construction – mechanically inclined.

• Bridge Building exposure a plus.

• Ability to travel and work on the road.
