General DescriptionThis position is responsible to oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned Production department. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling work orders, inventory control, and maintaining excellent quality standards and a superior departmental safety record. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficient execution of department tasks to ensure that productivity goals are reached. The role will define, refine, and develop departmental processes and systems including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The ability to identify and implement process improvements is critical to the success of this position. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for performance evaluations, monitoring time and attendance, documenting and providing disciplinary action, and mentoring and developing department personnel.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Associates degree or equivalent. Bachelor's degree highly desirable. • Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing, production, or a related field, preferably in the Food & Beverage Industry.• Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role including proven competency in delegation of tasks and provision of both written and verbal direction.• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop, motivate, discipline employees.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Competency in organization, prioritization, and foresight skills.• Past achievements in the analysis and improvement of processes and procedures. • Competent in use of computers related to production scheduling and business communications (Microsoft Office® Programs). Ability to learn and fully utilize company Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.• Strong familiarity with production processes, standard operating procedures, quality assurance requirements and sanitation protocols as they relate to food production. • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) training/certification highly desirable.
