Emerson Proposal Engineer I in Escazú, Costa Rica

Delivery and complete Tier 3+ scope and complexity proposals assignments related to PWS Solutions, with minimum supervision.

This position will have overall accountability for the technical and commercial offering including Bill of materials, Enterprise Estimating Tool (EET) reports, pricing, contractual terms, writing and assembling the proposal text.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Redefine the Interaction with Internal Proposal Teams in Latinamerica, Sales Leads, Emerson Impact Partners (Operations, Sales, Sourcing, Legal, Logistics and 3rd party solutions, with Supervision).

  • Complete proposal process and documentation procedures as: Ensure the accurate and updated information in the official tools for proposal development (EET, CRM, Clarity and HCM)

  • Handle Technical clarifications, assumptions, exclusions and ensures the information contained within is accurately presented in the proposal narrative in order to successfully bound scope and supply requirements.

  • Gives to proposal scope definition discussions.

  • Aid the commercial proposal strategy that mitigates project commercial risk exposure and best positions the execution team to allow scope and profitability growth.

  • Assist in the development of Delegation of Authority (DOA) approval presentations.

  • Participate creating Proposal Cash Flow.

  • Uses a variety of standard methods, techniques, and experience to tackle problems; may need to rely on the judgment of others to tackle unusual problems.

For This Role, You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Electronic, Electric, Chemical, Mechanic, Electro‐mechanic engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • English B1+ At least 2-3 years or more of proposal creation or technical and/or commercial experience with the ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, and deal effectively with other departments.

  • Interpersonal and political skills, including interest in building relationships, understanding Team dynamics, taking initiative, and solving problems.

  • Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework, always being aligned with partner concern process within the department (Team Lead, Manager, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous proposal/engineering experience.

  • English B2+ Excellent digital literacy and Microsoft Office Suite of tools, especially Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project and Excel (Power BI will be a plus).
