Work Day/Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This position is devoted to providing inventory and warehousing functions and professional procurement and contract administration services to the City. Performs fully proficient journey-level procurement duties requiring independent evaluation and analysis of issues and the exercise of judgment, education and experience to select and apply criteria to resolve problems and make recommendations. Decision-making includes selecting the method to address a problem or issue, subject to the constraints established by management objectives and direction.

Responsible for reviewing and processing purchasing requisitions; determining appropriate purchasing procedures; preparing bid invitations; analyzing bids; recommending successful vendors and contractors; administering procurement programs such as P-card and surplus property; and preparing and reviewing contract documents.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes purchase requisitions; reviews, verifies, and analyzes vendor, code, pricing, and related information; determines appropriate purchasing procedures for assigned purchases; and makes recommendations regarding bid awards.

  • Prepares, maintains, and/or reviews request for proposals, request for qualifications, contracts, agreements, proposals, and other documents; compiles, researches and analyzes information; develops and makes procurement recommendations; and reviews work for accuracy, completeness and compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Administers assigned procurement programs; establishes and maintains programs and related materials; reconciles account and payment information; and serves as a liaison between vendors and City staff responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in business administration, accounting, or a related field

  • One year of related experience.
