POSITION SUMMARY: Individual will assist in overseeing all aspects of compliance with Thruways Quality Management System (QMS) which is certified to ISO-9001 2015, AS-9100 Rev. B. This individual strives to continually improve company quality performance, customer satisfaction and the technical alignment of our products to the customers specs, prints, standards, fit, form and function. Position is cross functional to all of Thruway and always fosters the company cultural belief that quality is every employee’s responsibility.

EESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate and review customer drawings and specifications against supply chain provided products to ensure products meet or exceed all requirements.

  • Facilitate approval of alternate products as needed with Customer and Thruway teams.

  • Hands-on and timely inspection of product using electronic inspection software (PQS).

  • Gauge and measuring device usage, calibration and maintenance.

  • Assist GM in training and ensuring branch personnel follow the Thruway quality manual (QM), procedures (PR), and work instructions (WI). Elevate non-compliance to GM and CQM.

  • Prepare for and undergoing audits: Customer, Vendor and Certification as needed

  • Understand and implement concepts such as:

  • CAPA, 5S, TCM, Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement

  • Act as point person between customer and Thruway supply chain on all branch quality issues. Systematically navigate and document effectively from: first awareness of issue, containment, root cause analysis and preventative/corrective action (CAPA) … until acceptance of long-term corrective action by customer and/or vendor.

  • Gather, post and distribute quality metrics to branch (month end, quarter end and year-end)

  • On-time-performance (OTP), Parts-Per-Million (PPM) and returns with reason code

  • Assist with physical inventories and warehouse functions as required and timely

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Documented Experience (2+ years) in a direct quality role required

  • Experience in manufacturing environments and Electro/Mechanical hardware

  • Experience with auditing or being audited to the ISO-9001 or AS-9100/9120 standard preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Safely operate forklift and pallet jacks

  • Problem-solving, time-management, organizational and analytical ability

  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite products and ERP systems

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

    TRAVEL: The majority of the time will be spent onsite at the Thruway distribution facility. Occasional travel to other Thruway facilities (NY, PA, FL, VA) or customer locations may be required.
