In joining Spectrum Mental Health, you will be joining a friendly and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, made up of other experienced clinicians, as well as skilled head office staff, who can provide support, guidance and peer consultation.

Who are we looking for?

We are now seeking fully qualified, professional, accredited psychologists or psychotherapists for our South Dublin locations - Sandyford and Blackrock.

What is the role and what are your responsibilities?

The role will involve the delivery of high quality, client focused support services within our primary care clinics. Work hours can include morning, evening and weekend work, with a range of hours available. Both employee and independent contractor options are available which will depend on the hours worked.

The key responsibilities can include:

  • Working therapeutically with a wide range of presenting issues in our primary care and private clinic settings

  • Innovating and contributing to the development of services to promote the psychological well-being of all service users

  • Communicating effectively and working in co-operation with team members and others

  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals (such as GPs and other members of multi-disciplinary teams) as necessary

  • Working within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance

  • Being aware of, and referring clients on to, appropriate services as necessary

  • Keeping up to date with evidence base and CPD related to clinical work

  • Writing and maintaining clear client case notes, reports and collecting statistics in line with company policy

  • Using a client management system to manage client appointments

  • Managing client payments and issuing receipts

  • Drafting articles which will be used for content on the Spectrum Mental Health website and other marketing collateral

  • For full time staff the role may also involve potential for working in a general consultative capacity within a corporate setting using a preventative, psychoeducational approach with individual workers, as well as groups of workers

What experience and qualifications do I need?

  • Recognised qualification in psychology or psychotherapy with 2 years post qualification experience, working therapeutically with adults, child and adolescents or couples (relevant for clinic settings in particular)

  • Accreditation with either IACP, IICP, PSI, BABCP, CBPI or ICP or other recognized post qualification experience

  • Current professional indemnity insurance

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability with an ability to work within work environments and services that are changing, growing and evolving

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment with an openness to sharing ideas and learning from others

  • Fluent English Level B2 Advanced or above required

  • Full clean Driving License and access to transportation is looked upon favourably

What competencies are especially desirable?

  • Qualifications relating to one or more the following are particularly welcomed: CBT, couples counselling, family, child or adolescent therapy

  • Experience working with Children (5+) and adolescents desirable

  • Experience providing group therapy and/or giving presentations

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time ranging from a 5 day to a minimum of a 2 day week with fixed term contract (6 months) available. There is also blended corporate/clinic work options available in Dublin sites.
