About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to join Executive team in Jumeirah Nanjing Hotel. Purpose of the role to direct the design and implementation of the property’s commercial and operational strategy, including revenue management, marketing, core hotelier operations and guest services, in line with the Group’s corporate guidelines and brand promise, in order to foster operational excellence, achieve the Property’s ambitious financial objectives and ensure the provision of an exceptional guest experience.

The main duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of the Property’s commercial and revenue management strategy, in line with the Group Operations’ strategic objectives, by segmenting offerings and services, exploring different pricing structures, defining seasonal room pricing adjustments etc. in order to ensure high levels of occupancy and profitability for the Property.

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Property’s marketing strategy, in line with the corporate marketing guidelines, by recommending hotel-specific marketing initiatives to promote and distinguish the Property from the other Group properties and competitors, thus delivering the Stay Different promise and securing higher occupancy rates.

  • Lead the development and implementation of guest services standards and guest service feedback channels as well as regularly verify individual guests’ satisfaction levels, in order to reinforce guest-centricity and foster the continuous improvement of guest services’ options and delivery, thus ensuring the provision of a world-class guest experience.

  • Direct the continuous monitoring and reporting of the Property’s strategy implementation progress and financial performance in order to initiate corrective action if necessary, guide colleagues in the right direction, provide an up-to-date baseline for strategic decision-making and keep leadership informed of key decisions, areas of concern or achievements.

  • Lead core hotelier activities, such as room management, food and beverage operations, housekeeping etc. as well as support functions such as HR and Finance, in line with the Group’s brand proposition, while focusing on the optimization of back-office functions across the regional properties and on process efficiency in order to continuously contribute to cost optimization and operational excellence within the Region.

  • Support the Property’s asset management efforts by contributing to the implementation of the agreed upon preventive and corrective maintenance programs as well as the recommendation of any capital projects required to the Real Estate and Asset Management function, in order to ensure that the Property is maintained as per the corporate standards and that its asset value is continuously protected.

  • Manage important relationships with the Property’s key internal interfaces (shared service centres, centres of excellence etc.) and external stakeholders (such as VIP guests, major B2B partners, suppliers etc.) in order to ensure that the Property’s interests are promoted and that it has string relationships with its strategic partners.

  • Direct Health, Safety and Environment standards implementation within the Property that impact people, environment and properties, as well as enforce adequate and comprehensive systems, policies and procedures aligned to Dubai.

  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of the Property budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the Group is aware of anticipated costs and areas of unsatisfactory performance and that potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

  • Direct the development and implementation of Property policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls in order to ensure that Jumeirah Group delivers world class services, excellence and innovation.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Essential

  • 8 to 12 years of hospitality experience, preferably with an international luxury hospitality company.

  • A demonstrable track record of end-to-end management of world-class properties and delivering on strong commercial targets within the luxury hospitality industry.

  • Experience of working in an international capacity with a strong knowledge of and focus on the relevant operating market.

  • Experience of hotel pre-openings and openings.

  • A strong and known reputation within the hospitality industry and an extensive external network of key contacts within the relevant operating market.

  • A strong understanding of asset management optimization and value enhancement.

  • Highly commercial mind-set with strong abilities for revenue generation.
