About the Generator Maintenance Technician Position

As a Generator Maintenance Technician you assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of standby generators at residential and commercial sites. You will diagnose issues, disassemble engines, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear. Aside from being a self-starter that is determined to leave every generator working flawlessly, we want you to drive the kind of service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention, and increases profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions

  • Produce timely and detailed service reports

  • Maintain spare parts inventory in a clean and well-organized truck

  • Operate vehicle in a safe manner

  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations

  • Build positive relationships with customers

  • Travel required

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ideal candidate is ASE or AATI certified in electronic systems or has at least 6 months to 1 year of experience repairing engines or electrical motors

  • Electrical or Automobile mechanic experience is a bonus

  • Mechanically included and has proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work outside in the elements, and not mind getting dirty

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules

  • Ability to respond to emergency calls (including after hours) as required

  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Must have clear criminal and driving records

  • English literacy (Bilingual in Spanish preferred)
