Basic Function

As a specialist in their field, this position leads a multi-disciplinary research team focused on innovation, technology development and commercialization, targeting significant CO2 and pollutant emissions improvements within the passenger and commercial transport sectors. Responsibilities include leading and managing a research team along with global projects, building external supplier relationships and engaging with key automotive collaborators, and contributing strategically toward achieving technology objectives.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead major advanced transport technology development projects. Provide technical leadership to guide a cross-functional team of analyst, controls engineers, system design and integration engineers, and experimental researchers.

  • Lead the conceptualization and propulsion system architecture performance balancing by using systems knowledge, applying technical expertise in propulsion systems, and utilizing advanced modeling and experimental tools.

  • Plan, prioritize, direct, and execute technology development project activities to ensure successful delivery of project timeline and milestones

  • Manage complex tasks and make sound decisions in guiding project direction, establishing workplans and budgets, and overseeing analysis, testing, and communication with stakeholders.

  • Mentor and grow the research team by developing cross-functional capabilities, establishing in-depth comprehension of technology landscape, and cultivating innovation.

  • Represent Aramco as a technical leader to speak at major professional events, engage with major stakeholders, and drive collaborative activities with academic partners.

  • Publish peer-reviewed technical papers and present in technical conferences.

  • Provide and manage a safe, accident-free laboratory environment.  Follow all company safety rules in performing job duties.

  • Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested.

     

Education and Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Science/Engineering/Physics/Mathematics Discipline as appropriate for the area of expertise for the assigned jobs.  PhD is highly preferred.

  • Nine (9) year’s experience in a substantive industrial, technological or laboratory area relevant to the jobs assignment.

  • Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined.

  • Candidate should be comfortable in working independently or part of a project team, frequent project presentation and travel to meetings at conferences and universities.  Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
