This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

As part of a growing, hardworking, and curious team of design engineers, you'll be responsible for leading a team of mechanism engineers to develop and deliver flight mechanism hardware for future spacecraft. Your skill in the design and analysis of spacecraft mechanisms as well as your ability to deliver safe, reliable, ready to qualify and fly hardware that meets requirements, while doing so within theallocatedcost and schedule requirements, will lead to a rewarding career with Blue Origin.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the cross functional mechanisms team to achieve the mission goals and collaborate with other IPT teams. Accountable for planning, design, execution, and on-time/on-budget delivery of mechanisms. Lead large and complex technical trade studies for future mechanisms to achieve mission goals. Participate in the entire design cycle of flight hardware, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.Generate component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Facilitate support from Blue Origin Support Functions: Operations, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Test and Flight Operations (TFO), Safety Quality and Mission Assurance (SQ&MA), and other support organizations. Liaison between various internal/external business partners and process owners to facilitate seamless program execution. Develop component specifications and manage suppliers. Support your IPT requirements decomposition and allocation, systems engineering, technical design, analysis and verification/validation, and management of internal/external interfaces and support program ground tests and flight operations. Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.Participate in subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis. Lead program risk management processes, tracking and implementation of mitigation plans across all programmatic measures including cost, schedule, and technical performance.
