Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for performing short cycle and repetitive activities such as preparing labels, mixing medications and delivery which require accuracy in all details. The commitment to service, safety and professionalism is critical to achieving the best experience for our patients. What You Will Do In This Role:

  • You will accurately maintain required documentation logs.

  • You will accurately perform audits (i.e. anesthesia, overrides, etc.) as assigned.

  • You will perform the daily Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) routine as assigned (i.e. restocks, outdates, discrepancy resolution, loading and unloading, etc.) and troubleshoots ADC issues (i.e. orders not coming across, drawer failures, medication jams, communication failures, etc.).

  • You will perform administrative billing functions.

  • You will accurately and safely prepare compounds and label medications and parenteral admixtures.

  • You will compound chemotherapies.

  • You will accurately transport medications and other pharmacy supplies in a timely manner.

  • You will process medication returns and restock the pharmacy and timely notify the pharmacy inventory manager of products that need to be reordered.

  • You will assist the pharmacists in clinical reviews as assigned (i.e. medication reconciliation, triaging reports, etc.).

  • You will always obtain a final check from the pharmacist before releasing any prepared parenteral compounds, before packaging any medication or dispensing any medication.

What qualifications you will need:

  • State Registration Pharmacy Technician

  • High School Graduate / GED

  • IV Cert required

  • Hospital experience preferred
