The Resnick Library at SUNY Delhi seeks a creative, service-oriented, and collaborative individual to serve as the Student Success Librarian. As a member of the library department, the Student Success Librarian will work collaboratively to implement and enhance services which benefit library users and the campus community. This will include opportunities to create information literacy learning workshops and modules and develop programming to enhance and support student success.
Early career librarians and/or recent MLIS graduates are encouraged to apply.
Major Responsibilities:
Design and deliver classroom and online information literacy instruction for various disciplines and collaborate with faculty to integrate information literacy into courses
Create and maintain digital learning materials such as research guides, videos, and tutorials to support information literacy instruction and promote library resources and services
Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of library instruction and efforts and participate in campus-wide assessment activities
Select and evaluate materials to be added to the library's collections in collaboration with faculty and other library staff
Represent the library at events such as Orientations, prospective and accepted student days, tours, etc.
Partner with non-academic departments to enhance learning and engagement for student success and retention
Participate in reference desk rotation for on-site and virtual reference, including some evening and weekend shifts
Engage in college service and maintain professional development through continuing education and engagement with professional organizations
May serve as an academic advisor as needs and schedule permits
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in information and/or library science from an ALA-accredited school conferred by time of appointment
Demonstrated knowledge of current library best practices, especially in relation to information literacy instruction
Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities and needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with post-high-school graduates or experience working in Higher Education
Additional Information:
Salary $52,000
This is a 11 month, faculty tenure track position
